A business that operates online always sounds very appealing. After all, we are all aware of numerous success stories involving Internet entrepreneurship. The problem is that many more people have spent more money than they’ve earned or lost money with various online businesses.
The fact that the majority of these schemes—or scams, as the majority of people refer to them—make outrageous claims about attaining great wealth with little or no effort that appear too good to be true is a problem for me. When I come across something similar, a small voice in the back of my head reminds me that “if it’s too good to be true, then it probably is,” and I reluctantly and with an air of skepticism examine the particulars. Also, I have yet to find a business opportunity that worked with very little effort!
Skepticism has, in my experience, been beneficial to me; It has prevented me from participating in numerous schemes that turned out to be nothing more than a rip-off that would have you emptying your pockets in the hope of earning promised wealth only to end up significantly poorer than when you started. As a result, I have chosen carefully any business opportunities that have presented themselves, and even when I have, I have found myself out of pocket.
